Writing Prompt 2

Prompt: Write a story about a spy

A long time ago, I fell in love. Childish really. Who would ever love such a monstrosity as me? Long metal legs, a metal arm that held a variety of weapons. Black hair that fell down my back to my waist. Blood red lips, the only color on my body.

Standing on the edge of the skyscraper, my eyes narrowed into slits. The blur of cars raced against each other, the horns and sirens filled the night. Who would’ve thought that I used to be like one of them? Naive and foolish. Thinking only of themselves and not how the world was falling apart. My long coat flowed behind my legs. The long black material hiding the metal even though the gears could still be heard. My metal hand seemed to be acting on it’s own when it was just connected to my body. A monstrosity indeed. A beep in my ear called my attention.

“Sali report over.” Static filled my mind and I reached up to press the button.

“It’s quiet. Nothing seems out of place over.” A pause. More static.

“Keep looking. They’re bound the show up sometime over.” Sighing I respond.

“Copy over.” Then silence. I was used to this by now. The silence that came after my orders. The threat hung in the air. Do it or die. Sighing again I stood but something caught my eye. Nothing that any normal human would see. But the electronics in my brain slowed down the world and I saw it. A figure. Moving throughout the night right below me. Smirking I jumped down and fell. I fell and fell but I wasn’t scared. People usually say that they are scared of heights. But not me. I love them. They make me feel alive. The ground was nearing and I moved my legs into a crouch.

BOOM!

My metal legs did not fail on me as they never have. Rising slowly I smiled, the figure stood frozen. I calculated my jump perfectly to land right in front of them. My dark shades gleamed dangerously at them. The look of shock only lasted a moment and then they attacked. Jumping back, I smirked and fought back.

He threw punch after punch but I dodged. Based upon his height and weight, he would falter and that’s when I would attack. Just like my computer detected, the man slowed with his punches. I reached out punch him in the jaw and swiped down to knock him out cold on the ground. Standing up, I reached for my earpiece.

“This is Sali. The suspect has been apprehended. Bringing him in now over.” The silence; then.

“Understood. Well done Sali. You never left us down over.” The static caused my smirk to drop. Picking up the man and throwing him over my shoulder, I said.

“Yeah, like I have a choice.”
