Writing Prompt 2

Prompt: Write a story about a spy

A long time ago, I fell in love. Childish really. Who would ever love such a monstrosity as me? Long metal legs, a metal arm that held a variety of weapons. Black hair that fell down my back to my waist. Blood red lips, the only color on my body.

Standing on the edge of the skyscraper, my eyes narrowed into slits. The blur of cars raced against each other, the horns and sirens filled the night. Who would’ve thought that I used to be like one of them? Naive and foolish. Thinking only of themselves and not how the world was falling apart. My long coat flowed behind my legs. The long black material hiding the metal even though the gears could still be heard. My metal hand seemed to be acting on it’s own when it was just connected to my body. A monstrosity indeed. A beep in my ear called my attention.

“Sali report over.” Static filled my mind and I reached up to press the button.

“It’s quiet. Nothing seems out of place over.” A pause. More static.

“Keep looking. They’re bound the show up sometime over.” Sighing I respond.

“Copy over.” Then silence. I was used to this by now. The silence that came after my orders. The threat hung in the air. Do it or die. Sighing again I stood but something caught my eye. Nothing that any normal human would see. But the electronics in my brain slowed down the world and I saw it. A figure. Moving throughout the night right below me. Smirking I jumped down and fell. I fell and fell but I wasn’t scared. People usually say that they are scared of heights. But not me. I love them. They make me feel alive. The ground was nearing and I moved my legs into a crouch.

BOOM!

My metal legs did not fail on me as they never have. Rising slowly I smiled, the figure stood frozen. I calculated my jump perfectly to land right in front of them. My dark shades gleamed dangerously at them. The look of shock only lasted a moment and then they attacked. Jumping back, I smirked and fought back.

He threw punch after punch but I dodged. Based upon his height and weight, he would falter and that’s when I would attack. Just like my computer detected, the man slowed with his punches. I reached out punch him in the jaw and swiped down to knock him out cold on the ground. Standing up, I reached for my earpiece.

“This is Sali. The suspect has been apprehended. Bringing him in now over.” The silence; then.

“Understood. Well done Sali. You never left us down over.” The static caused my smirk to drop. Picking up the man and throwing him over my shoulder, I said.

“Yeah, like I have a choice.”

Writing Prompt 1

Prompt: Write a story about someone being controlled breaking free and becoming their own person.

“You think I wanted to be this way? That I wanted to be made into a weapon? Because that’s all I am. A weapon.” Her eyes flashed silver as the venomous words came out. Her body turned into diamond, making her even more beautiful. But she is dangerous. She knew that she could take out all the guards. She knew that she could take on anyone. That is how she was programmed, don’t let anyone take advantage of you. She ran at the guards. One by one they all fell down. Gunshots were fired. They made no difference.

The Programmers thought they were smart, making her out of the hardest substance in world. They were smart, until she figured out their plan. She is talking he perfect weapon.

I watched as she threw a man across the room, what would happen when they were all gone?

Would she come for us too?

I looked at my crew mates. Just before this, we were in deep space. Flying towards nowhere. The Valiant in tip top shape. Until she came down and crashed into our ship. And if she didn’t try to kill us; I will volunteer. No one hurts my crew. The last groan filled the room. I looked towards her again. Panting, she stood. The carnage in the room seemed to make her calm. Then she looked over at us. Her silver eyes met mine as she walked forward towards us. I readied my voice to fight her. Her eyes never left mine.

“You accepted me onto your ship. You helped me recover. You brought me home. You deserve to be free.” She changed course. She walked towards the control panel, and pressed a button. Suddenly put chains all gave out and we were free.

“You’re letting us go? I thought that wasn’t in your programming?” I rubbed my sore wrists, anxious to find the Valiant.

“I refuse to be controlled again. From now on, I make my own programming.” She looked at her diamond hand. Her eyes twirled and seemed to finally process the gravity of what she had done. The room was silent. But just for a second.

“The Valiant is in hanger bay 4. You should go. If they send more guards, they’ll probably come for me.”

“What about you?” Roma asked. I looked at my first mate.

“What about me? I’ll go under the radar probably. Now that the Programmers are shut down. I don’t have a purpose right now.”

“You have one with us.” I stepped forward and she met my eyes. My heart seemed to stop.

“All I did, was bring chaos to your ship. Hurt and pain.” Her eyes watered but didn’t falter.

“We’re pirates. Chaos and pain is our life. We forget what it truly was to have adventures. You reminded us of that.” I held out my hand

“Come with us.” She looked at my hand then back at me. Slowly, her hand reached out and grasped mine. Smiling the Valiant crew followed me out. The weapon, now a pirate.

The Touch of the Healer Chapter One

Author’s Note: I wrote this story when I was 15, there are only four chapters and an epilogue. I will post the epilogue the same day I post the 4th chapter.

Chapter One: My Life

White started to flood into my eyes through the blackness. The light stunned me but I soon recovered. I seem to be doing a lot of that recently. I looked around trying to calm down my and trying to convince myself that I wasn’t dead. But the more I looked around the small, white room, the more I actually wanted to be dead. The table beside the bed I was chained to was full of knives and syringes. The two metal arms above my head had a blow torch and long thin spikes. I was starting to panic but I completely lost it when I heard the footsteps coming to my room. Closer, closer, until the door opened and I was shocked at who it was.

41 hours earlier

March 3, 2016

I scrunched up my nose as I opened my eyes. The smell of too much perfume and hairspray drowned my nose in a disgusting, vile way. I saw my step-sister getting ready for the day. Of course, Miss Daniella Gold had to look perfect for each and every day. Even though she was one year younger than me, she still was the most popular, and preppy 10th grader in all of Newton High School. I rolled off my bed making the awful CREEK sound. Daniella winced and I stood up unaffected by the ear-piercing screech. After our regular good mornings, I took one look at Daniella’s vanity covered with hair products, makeup, and all the other fake maker things and turned away. I quickly got ready and heard my step mom call for us. The twin pair of footsteps raced down the stairs eagerly as I swung my bag over one shoulder and trudged down the stairs.

I saw my step mom at the stove finishing taking the pancakes off the griddle and put them on a plate. And as soon as she placed them on the table the twins, Toby and Aidan, began to devour them. My father chuckled and said,

“Careful boys, you need to save some for your sisters.” They both slowed down and glared and stuck out their tongues at me but changed their faces to look like innocent as soon as my step mom turned towards them. I walked by the table and grabbed a single pancake and then went to my father and kissed his cheek.

“Goodbye dad.” I said then went and put on my shoes,

“Good—“my father began to say until my step mom interrupted,

“Barbara.” I froze knowing that if I ignored her, she would just get angrier. “Sit down and eat breakfast with your family.”

I mentally groaned but turned around and smiled innocently.

“I’m sorry… mom… but Tommy and Ryker are picking me up and taking me to school.” Right then I heard seven honks in a specific order and knew it was them, I turned back to my “mom” and said,

“See?” I said as nicely as I could, to be honest I never really liked my new family. Even after I lost my real mom, I was just content with myself and dad but no, he had to go to Louisiana and meet Angelica Gold and get married. All without telling me. I think I would have been fine with it if he had told me; called me or something.

I was in my room listening to my music that was blaring out of my headphones. I was doing my homework but I could hardly concentrate. My dad was coming home. He went to Louisiana to a conference for his big trucking company he owns. He’s been gone for 5 weeks. I had just finished my Chemistry homework when out of my peripheral vision, I saw my dad’s Honda pull into the driveway. I stopped my music and ran downstairs. Ever since my mom died, all I had was my dad and I was content with that. However I don’t think my dad felt the same way as me. I stepped outside about to run and hug my dad when I froze in my spot where I stood. He was helping out a dark haired woman. Then three kids climbed out of the van. My eyes were huge as I watched the new kids and that dark haired woman look at my house. The dark haired woman I could just tell was judging it inside her head. I stood there until then finally my dad noticed me. He looked nervous but mainly his eyes showed the words, “Be nice.” He came up to me and hugged me. That sort of knocked me out of my trance and I awkwardly; hugged him back my eyes still on the other people.

“Bobbi, this Angelica Gold.” I was smiling but it wavered when I heard my own last name to describe that woman. She came up to me and hugged me. Now I’m not much of a hugger unless it’s my dad, Tommy, or Ryker. So when she hugged me, I just went stiff and wrapped my arms barely around her.

“It’s so nice to meet you Barbara.” I cringed at my real name, as I thought while mentally glaring at her ‘only my Real mom can call me that.’

“And these are your new siblings, Daniella, Toby, and Aiden.” I looked over at my dad in shock.

“You got married?” Still in shock, had he been able to replace mom that fast?

“Yes,” making my eyes widen even more. “Look, I’m sorry I didn’t tell you but I assumed you would be busy in school and I didn’t want to bother you.” He tried to explain but I just felt hurt, anger, and betrayal,

“Bother me how Dad? You couldn’t even text me, I’m getting married? Mom’s been dead for a month dad, a month and you just go and forget about her?”

“Enough!” shaking my head I looked over at my new ‘family.’ My step-mom was looking at my dad dreamily, my step-sister was looking down on the ground, my step-brothers looked like they really didn’t care. Blinking back tears I ran inside and went into my room and locked the door. I flung myself on my bed. Silent tears rolled down my cheeks as I wished for my mom, for these new people to leave and most of all that my dad still loved my mom.

I opened the door and hurried out as fast I possibly could. I swung myself into the side door that was open and said while closing the door,

“Hurry before the She comes out.” They chuckled and backed out of the driveway. As soon as we were out of the neighborhood I breathed out a sigh,

“Was it that bad this morning Bobbi?” Ryker asked me

“Of course it was. There was too much perfume and hairspray in the air and the smell of some food that the She made.” Tommy said, I smiled and put my hand over my heart and gasped,

“You know me so well Thomas.” With a fake gasp,

“I know.” He did a fake bow, well as well as he could while driving. We laughed. Then Ryker turned on the radio and we sang the rest of the way to school. As soon as we got there, I opened the door and took Ryker’s outstretched hand and said in my best British voice (which sucks by the way),

“Why thank you kind sir.” I stepped out with my bag on my back as he replied,

“With pleasure madam.” Tommy rolled his eyes and said,

“You too.” While shaking his head,

“Hey, I don’t see you being a gentleman. You’re just a big meanie.” I said while fake pouting. They both chuckled at my childish behavior, and each of them grabbed my arms and pulled me to the school,

“NO!! I don’t want to go back to that dungeon! Don’t torture me again, PLEASE!!” I have an issue on being too dramatic. It’s how I deal with things. Both of my best friends laughed at me as they took me inside. Tommy and Ryker have been my friends for years. We met when we were only 5 years old.

My mom drove me to my first day in the 1st grade. When we pulled up I looked at the giant building before my 5 year old eyes and thought it was like a giant castle. My mom came over and helped me out of my car seat. Then I clung to her leg as a sign that I didn’t want her to leave. We came to the door, there was a nice looking lady who smiled at me. I looked at her up and down trying to decide if she was ok or not.

“Who might be this beautiful young lady?” I looked away and my mom chuckled.

“This is Barbara and it’s her first day so I don’t know how this will go.” The lady knelt down and said while holding her hand out.

“Hi Barbara, my name is Miss Rhea. Would you like to go have some fun today?” I looked at her for a second before turning away and saying.

“No.” My mom sighed and said,

“Barbara, honey you have to go to school. You can make friends and play games.” She tried to convince me

“We can do that at home.” I said,

“We can after I come pick you up at 3, okay honey.”

“Don’t want you to go.”  I said as pearl shaped tears ran down my cheeks

“Hey, hey it’s ok.” My mom told me while wiping my eyes, “I will always come back to you. Always no matter what! Okay?” She said and smiled at me. I slowly nodded and walked forward and took Miss Rhea’s hand. As she took me inside I looked back to my mom for the last time and she waved and blew me a kiss. When we got inside I sat in the corner while Miss Rhea called everyone over to talk.

“Alright now kids. We are going to start today by playing a game.” All the other kids cheered while I looked down not wanting to do anything. As Miss Rhea was explaining what we were about to do, two boys, one with light blonde hair that almost looked white hair and the other with black hair that looked like the crows that cawed at mommy and me when we went on walks, came on each side of me and started talking.

“Hi, I’m Ryker, and this is Tommy.” I looked at the blonde hair one who spoke and whispered,

“Barbara.”

“Miss Rhea always has us work with other kids. Wanna be our partner?” Tommy asked while smiling a big tooth gap grin.

“Sure.” I said shrugging. Hoping that 3 o’clock will be arriving soon. then suddenly I heard Miss Rhea say,

“Ok, go!” I focused back on this world as Ryker grabbed my hand and we ran after Tommy.

“Come on Barbara!” He said to me.

“What’s going on?” I asked confused, why and what we were running from? The boys sighed while we hid behind the castle in the corner.

“We have to tag all the other kids but if we or you get tagged, you have to freeze and only one of us can unfreeze you.” Tommy explained quickly to me while Ryker kept look out.

“So why are we sitting around doing nothing?” I asked, a grin spreading across my face. The two boys soon joined me.

“We’re not anymore.” Ryker said as he jumped up and ran and tagged two kids who had their backs turned, and quickly ran back to us. Ryker nodded at Tommy who then nervously but still fast ran out into the opening. He only tagged one kid but was tagged himself so he froze in his place and looked over at us with a sheepish grin.

“You get him, I’ll watch your back.” I told him. He nodded and ran out to get our frozen teammate. As soon as he touched Tommy, they were both tagged again in front of a small play set. I sighed and was about to run out until a ginger kid found me and I quickly ran. I ran through all the toys and jumped over the play sets knowing that if I got caught, my team would be out. I was behind a small fortress when another kid came on the opposite side of the ginger. I looked quickly at them both and jumped inside the fortress. I squirmed and crawled my way through and once I found an opening I jumped down. Luckily Tommy and Ryker were? I tagged them both and we ran across the room. Soon there were only about five kids left. We nodded at each other and ran out. I tagged the ginger that was previously chasing me. When I looked up, I saw Ryker get two kids. Tommy crept up on the other kid who had cornered me with the ginger and froze him. The last kid looked helpless seeing that his teammates were all frozen with three kids in front of them. He tried to get Ryker but Tommy and I quickly tagged him and we had won! After the game was snack time. My new friends and I  were sitting in the fortress, I had crawled through and we were just talking. We had just finished laughing at the joke Tommy had just told when Ryker turned to me.

“Okay, Barbara, I think you need a nickname.” My face scrunched up which happened when I was confused.

“Why?” I asked. It was true that I didn’t like my first name but I was a little scared at what these two would think up.

“Because Barbara is too formal. Plus I want to.” Ryker answered while Tommy nodded.

“Okay, what did you have in mind? Nothing crazy though.” I said agreeing with them.

“Hm… Barbie?” Tommy suggested and I frowned in disgust.

“I am not going to be called a doll.” I said while Ryker nodded.

“She’s right, Barbie isn’t right for her. How about Bonny?” He tried, I quickly shook my head. Then Tommy suddenly had a huge smile and snapped his fingers.

“I got it! Bobbi.” He exclaimed. Both the boys looked at me and I thought about that name. After a second or two I smiled,

“Bobbi,” I tried it out, “I like it.” Ryker and Tommy high-fived feeling victorious while I giggled and could not wait to tell my mommy and daddy about my new friends and my new nickname.

I smiled as the boys finally got me into the school and placed me in front of my locker.

“Thank you Tommy and Ryker.” I said, smiling cheekily. They both rolled their eyes and Tommy said,

“Just get your stuff so we can get to class.” I nodded and opened my locker. as soon as I opened my locker, I felt like someone’s eyes were on me. I looked around but saw nothing out of the ordinary. People messing around, grabbing things for class, but no one was looking at me. I shook off the feeling and slammed my locker and walked with my best friends to class. But still, once we reached our Algebra 2 class and sat down, I still felt like someone was watching me. But the only people who were looking at me were Tommy and Ryker. This stare felt different, more hard, more… cold. I tried to tell myself that it was nothing but I couldn’t shake the feeling. Was someone watching? if so, why? And  who?

Cera

The world shook as a roar echoed through the canyons, and the mountains, and the hills of Cera. Shouts and screams could be heard as the tall, magnificent castle towers began to fall. Hundreds of villagers that surrounded the castle began to run in fear of losing their breaths. The king and queen, who were enjoying a simple, calm night who were suddenly struck by fear as their bodies shook with the life they had built up into a palace. The princess that had a cauldron of fire next to her legs, with letters in her hand, watched as her pot of heat fell over and caught her rug in endless fire. Beginning to stumble; the princess quickly standing up and running out of her tower she called home. She ran down the hallway with trembling feet and wild eyes.

“Father! Mother!” The king and queen heard their child calling but they were already outside the castle. The princess watched in fear as the gates chains melted and it began to fall down closing any escape for the girl. Guards saw the princess, then the gate. They began running towards the castle once again but in vain, the gate slammed down before either party could make it underneath the solid metal. The princess screamed and grabbed the metal bars.

Her hands were scorched and she stared at them for a moment before looking into her parent’s eyes with fear and panic. She slowly realized that there was nothing to be done, she had wished to be free but now that she had that…

The king and queen watched slowly in sorrow, their daughter turns away from them and straight into the hot, white blaze. The queen lost all control from the few tears running down her cheeks to sobs and calls towards her daughter. And that was the day that Cera lost their princess.

2 years later

Nobody paid attention to the small girl who weaved her way through the crowd of people. She grunted as a large man bumped into her side, she winced at the pain looking down at her hands, then put her head up and kept going. Finally pushed out of the current of people the girl entered a small tent that sat in the middle of a village called Frane just outside of Cera.

The girl sighed and put down her bag, the top opened and out spilled food that she had stolen from the small market. Laying down on her mat that she made herself; she opened her eyes and put all of her attention to her gloved hands. The black cotton that covered her small delicate fingers held a mystery that the girl would never tell. She stared at her fingers as if she was asking them why she lived this way. Lost to world, the girl found herself in her mind – all alone with her thoughts.

Villagers bustled about, moving through their kingdom, hundreds of people held tightly onto their baskets or children as they moved through the crowd. But up above, someone that no one could see was watching them. The girl sat on her window sill, her hands were moving simultaneously with her small loom as her eyes followed the people that looked small and insignificant below her, tears fell softly onto her worn-out dress; her silky hair falling onto her waist.

“My daughter, why are you despaired?” Her father walked through the door, his hand still holding onto the handle. The girl put on a smile and faced her father.

“Nothing father, I am well.” Her father held a soft smile that was gentle and soft, which surprised most people since he was like a giant. He entered her room and he walked up to his pride and joy and put his hand on her cheek. “You cannot hide your feelings from me my little light.” The girl smiled at her nickname he has called her since she was born.

“It’s just,” the girl sighed and looked out the window again. “Why can’t I leave? And go to the village?” It was her father’s turn to sigh and put his massive hands on his daughter’s shoulders.

“You know it’s dangerous, with all of these bandits running around, my first job is to keep you safe.” The girl nodded, her eyes welling up in tears.

“Of course father, I understand.” The man gently took her chin to look at him.

“I love you my little light, don’t ever forget that. And I’ll always be there for you.” The girl nodded with a smile on her face as she was filled with warmth and comfort as her father took her hand and they walked out of her room, hand in hand.

The girl was awoken from her memories by a scream. She instantly stood up and went to investigate this mysterious scream. She stepped out of her tent to see the fire. Her little village was being attacked by bandits. This was the fifth attack this week. She watched as they threw another torch onto a tent. The girls face turned into something of pure hatred.

Something built inside of her, resentment and anger. She told herself quietly that she wouldn’t let this happen; not anymore, she was going to end this once and for all. She ran around her tent and began running around her camp, she snuck behind one of the bandits and knocked him out dragging him around the tent. All that the bandits could see was a red blur before their eyes gave out and blackness covered them in their sleep. She did this to 10 other bandits, knocking them all out, and hiding them. But then she came in front of a bandit who held a torch.

“So you’re the one who has been taking out all of my men.” His voice was dark and hoarse as if he was trying to sallow a rock that was lodged in his throat.

“You shouldn’t have made it so easy.” Her voice was scratchy as if she hadn’t talked in a long time. Her face was cold and shut down as his had a smile that made her cringe on the inside. His head suddenly cocked sideways; then looked back at her with eyes filled with chaos.

“Tell me, do you like fire?” He said waving his torch around like it was a simple child’s toy that couldn’t hurt anyone. A stupid grin covered his face, making the girl just want to slap him and wipe it off.

“I’ve been burned before, your little torch doesn’t scare me.” She kept a cool façade on her face but just looking at the fire brought back such terrible memories. The bandit smirked at her and began circling around her. She followed his movements and jumped when he pretended he was about to attack. Her glare was deepening at his antics, she was becoming even more annoyed by the minute. He finally came out at her with his sword on full thrust. She blocked with her small dagger, she turned her body around and jumped back from the bandit. He thrust his flame towards her body. She froze. Bright flashes covered her eyes, and even though nobody else could see. She saw fire.

What she saw was an endless fire abyss that developed you in, told you that you were welcome in their fiery arms, then slowly once you trusted it, the unfathomable inferno would torture you, but you can’t leave, you’re already one of them and they trap you for eternity.

Waking up with a familiar pain on her stomach. Taking a deep breath, there it was. The white-hot blaze she remembered, it hadn’t changed one bit. The bandit stared in shock as the girl didn’t react to the hot blaze he stabbed her with.

“I told you, I’ve been burned before. That was nothing to me. You are nothing to me. You are like a worm; small and pathetic. Go back underground where you belong.” She punched the bandit in the face knocking him out. She was surprised then when she heard cheers from the townspeople as they all came out of hiding from the houses that were still standing. Then from all sides, a swarm of Cera’s castle guards came into the village.

“We heard your village was being attacked, the king sent us to save you.” One of the guards said.

“We do not need you to save us,” the elder of the girl’s village stepped forward, “We have already been saved from these relentless attacks by this young lady right here.” He waved an arm towards the girl. The guards look towards the girl, standing with an exposed stomach with burns, hair that looked like fire, and gloves that were singed revealed scars covering her palms.

Anybody could see that her hands had been burned before, but what had burned them? Was the question that floated through head and head of everyone surrounding the girl.

“Who are you girl?” The Captain asked but before she could even think of speaking, a voice from the back of the guards spoke up.

“None of you recognize her? Not even by her hands.” The guard stepped forward and everyone saw the youngest warrior in the King’s guard, but one of the most skilled. The Young Warrior stepped forward and looked the girl in the eyes. They held eye contact, neither of them blinked as the villagers held their breath, wondering who their savior was. Only the elder saw the electricity that flowed through the Young Warrior’s eyes and the mysterious girl that none of the villagers recognized.

“Well, who is she, boy?” The Captain interrupted, the Young Warrior dragged his eyes slowly away from the girls. It was like the world was paused in slow motion, however, neither the Warrior or the Savior wanted the world to speed up again. The Warrior turned and faced the crowd.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I give you your savior, Princess Cera.”

Chapter One: Welcome to Central Port

Through the noises of people trying to get where they just had to be right at that second. No one noticed the young girl with purple hair, white t-shirt with a double 8, and baggy black pants making her way through the crowd. She pushed people and they returned the favor, everyone was different, but they all looked annoyed and frustrated in this crowd. Swiftly, the girl reached into the pocket of a coat of a grown man and grabbed his Pennlar Box only glancing back when she was a few steps ahead of him noticing how the man did not react. Shaking her head, she pocketed the flat money box ignoring the loud noises surrounding her. The girl made her way through the bustle of people to the bus station, standing on the elevator to go down to the trains. She caught a glimpse of the Middle Platform. The all-powerful Screema stood as a hologram proudly observing SC-16 and SC-17, two of her most trusted guards. The identical purple bots with gold masks covering their faces were whipping two poor men. Even though the girl had grown accustomed to the displays of power, it never failed to make her flinch at the echoing sounds.

People stood around the platform watching Screema with her one red eye and her goons torture two men. The girl noticed the Rising Band tattoo on one of the exposed men’s chests. The swirling lines made the girl’s mind swim. A crack whipped through the air, startling the girl out of her mind trip, she was surprised the glass elevator didn’t break around her as the crowd screamed loudly at the traitors. Words were thrown around carelessly as the crowd was just grateful that they were not the ones on the receiving end of Screema’s wrath. The girl got one last glance at the Platform, the eyes of the man with the tattoo met her own. They held each others eyes, green on brown until brick cut off all sight to the platform. The girl stepped off the elevator onto the station, trying to forget what she just saw.

The neon blue lights were flashing on the Echo Trains, some going underground but most staying on ground level. The flash of purple that covered her head was mesmerizing as she moved like a blur never staying in one place for long. She got onto a train and stood to hold one of the rods hanging from the ceiling. As people moved on and off, the girl would memorize their faces, she had long since learned that no one in this world was as they seemed.

As the train passed by, the lights made a show that the girl always loved to watch, green connected to white, blue connected to yellow, all on a sheet of black. The colors would always change and seemed to play a new image each time. And while they traveled, she could get glimpses of posters and billboards, all showing her face. The dictator of all the Ports, Screema. The girl couldn’t stop thinking about the men on the platform, the brown eyes that bored into her wouldn’t get out of her head. She woke up from her daze as the screeching halt broke the seeming peace, Far-North Port, the smallest, most dangerous part of Central Port. But it was also the best place to get a view of the Middle Port. She smiled as she climbed the bright, unnatural green hill, once she reached the top she stared at the city she lives in. The blue and green hues shone on the thousands of skyscrapers towers reflecting the water from below.

The North Port looked like emeralds in the nighttime sky, the West and East Ports looked like a wave of the blue sea as the building seemed to sway. The farther Ports, the small islands stood out with purple and blue hues. The Middle Port that seemed gigantic only minutes ago, was the busiest of them all, filled with people who always wanted to be something they were not and could never be. The constant loud noises and bright lights. The ports have been her world her entire life. And far off, the faint island just off the coast of Middle Port, was lies Heart Port, the fortress where Screema lives and breathes to make lives miserable. The girl thought about the red-eye that people have become to fear. She worried about her grandparents who were in Middle Port right next to the Heart. She shook her head and refused to get worried, they were adults, they could handle themselves.

The girl scoffed at the roar of the H-L Cars that laid just below her, she turned away from the tip of the hill and began walking home. Shoving her cold hands into her pockets, trudged through the mud and dirt of land she lives in. She passed by the lit houses of the night into her own, knowing her grandparents wouldn’t be home yet from their dinner with her great aunt down in Middle Port. She sighed and pulled out her Raider Phone and scanned the Pennlar Box that was safely stashed in her pocket. She maneuvered through the house she grew up in her bedroom at the top of the house. She sat down at her Hover Desk and placed the Box onto the Platform. She pulled up the records and scanned through the accounts with her eyes, the lights blurring in her iris’. After she read all them, she placed her own Pennlar Box on the Platform and transferred the money to hers. After she finished, she rolled her chair over to the second desk, put on safety goggles over her eyes. A crackle was the only thing heard as the girl burned the Box to leave no trace.

The familiar beep noise from her Raider Phone made her roll her way back over to her first desk. The opened the message and read it,

Where are you? We’re waiting for you. -K

The girl swore under her breath and removed the goggles, she moved to climb out of her window. She reached a fence around the Pipeline, a hole in the ground that leads down to the sewers. She got on the ground and rolled underneath it to the other side. She got up and dusted herself off, she then proceeded to lower herself down the hole and onto a pipe below. She continued her descent down the pipes until she reached the bottom, the bottom of the sewer had water running through it, she swung herself onto one of the side panels and went through a doorway that revealed a smaller room.

The sides of the room were dirty and stained a sickly green color. To anyone else, it would have smelled like the blood that covered the Platform in Middle Port. The blood dripped down and runs with the water that everybody drank from. And yet, the girl didn’t mind the copper aroma that filled her nose. She had been down there too much. She finally made it to the bottom and clapped her hands together, getting rid of some of the dirt that covered her fingers. She walked down the hallway, she walked with confidence, her eyes seemingly knowing where to turn. Left, right, right, left, left, passing different tubes, metal walkways above her, and a steady stream of water below her. The faint lines of red were flowing with the murky water. All the hallways looked the exact same, the girl stopped in front of a doorway that was made of concrete. She walked in and looked around the small room.

In the center of the room a boy and a girl stood talking while another younger boy sat on one of the pipes above the two on the floor.

The younger boy had a flop of black hair on top of his head, bright blue eyes that moved so quickly read what was on his computer screen, all that could be seen were two blurs. He wore a giant orange jacket with the hoodie covering the mess of hair he has, only his hair that covered his eyes could be seen. The other boy had short blonde hair that was spiked in all different directions. His eyes could not be seen and he could not see. The blind eyes of the adolescent were covered with goggles, he wore a black jacket that had silver spikes on the shoulder pads. He stood with arms crossed but one hand was holding a Radar Staff and seemingly was already aware of the girl’s appearance. The girl was completely different from the other two boys, her fiery red hair already gave people the impression that she was not someone to be messed with. But, yet her body that people could see were covered with Elec-Veins, black lines that separate parts of her body. Her eyes were purple but whoever stared into them would notice how the pupils would move electronically. She wore a green shawl that covered her shoulders and black shorts. The way she was tapping her foot, anybody could see she was annoyed but her face held worry. The purple-haired girl stepped out of the shadows with a smirk on her face,

“Miss me?” All heads turned towards the girl, relief was seen on the girls face as she rushed forward and hugged her friend,

“Told you she was fine.” The younger boy said without looking away from his computer screen, his fingers moving rapidly.

“Nobody asked you Mo.” She retorted as she glared at the boy even though he couldn’t see her.

“Where the Elec were you?” Demanded the girl as she released the shorter girl from her death grip.

“I’m fine Karasi, I was in Middle Port.” Replied the girl while rolling her eyes, the younger boys eyes turned at the sound of Middle Port but quickly left towards his screen again, the other boy sighed and ran his fingers through his hair.

“Really Lex? Middle Port?” He shook his head, making his hair swish from side to side bumping into his goggles when Lex shrugged like it was nothing.

“you could have been hurt, then who would explain to your grandparents what happened?” She paused catching herself from saying anything more, it was quiet for a nanosecond her mechanical eyes narrowed, “You didn’t steal anything did you?” Lex then avoided Karasi’s eyes and smiled sheepishly, a chuckle could be heard from Mo, a groan from Kain, and wide eyes from Karasi.

“You idiot!” Karasi exclaimed smacking Lex’s arm back and forth, her shawl fell off the side of her shoulder and hung off the side of her arm.

“Hey, quit it.” Lex swatted her hand away, “I’m fine, I got some extra bucks, no harm, no foul.” Karasi fixed her shawl covering her Elec-Veins and opened her mouth to scold her some more when a loud ding cut through the air. All the eyes turned towards Mo, who was now furiously typing on the hologram screen on his lap. He stuck out his tongue in confusion and concentration as Lex rushed to his side.

“What happened?” Inquired the girl

“I’ve never seen such a big blast in the Bottom Net,” Mo said, mainly to himself.

“Well, isolate the main fabric of the blast,” Lex said trying to reach over the youngers hands, but Mo quickly smacked her hand and kept talking. They continued arguing, Mo’s hands were moving just as fast as his mouth was. Karasi seemed about to break it up when suddenly a loud beep echoed throughout the sewer line. Both parties hushed and focused their attention on the screen instead of each other.

Their eyes moved in sync reading the screen, the blue lines rolled up making it seem like they were moving faster than they actually were. Karasi and Kain knew they were searching for something and waited until Lex’s hand moved so fast, they didn’t even see it, onto the space bar. Everything froze, it was so quiet, Kain could hear Karasi’s pupils contract to see the screen from where she was standing by Kain. A short gasp from Karasi’s lips made Kain curious about what was on the screen that the two hackers found underneath the Top Net, the wifi interspace that people go on. The Bottom Net yet was only used by Screema and anyone who could hack it. There, these kids could find any answers they wanted to know about this world dictator.

“What did you find? Anything on the Rising Band?” Kain inquired looking up at the ceiling, trying to listen. He raised his staff with one hand and brought it down on the ground. The soft vibrations radiating smoothly off his Radar into the ground. As the waves came back, a digital picture showed in his goggles. Lines formed shapes and he recognized the outline of the robot girl, the sarcastic hacker, and his little stepbrother at the laptop. The pipes were clear in this vision but he noticed something else, with his head pointed up, he saw two figures he has never seen before.

“Kain, you’ve got to listen to this.” But he didn’t hear Lex as he sent out another wave to get a better picture. It came back and he saw that there was a boy and a girl, the girl was completely blue, she wore a black helmet and suit, she carried a giant gun on her back that anyone could see. The man was different, he wore a grey long trench coat and Kain could faintly see a slight smirk etched on his face. Other then that, he carried a long sword in his hand, it looked like it would weigh a ton but he carried it with such ease, he made it look as light as a feather. They were climbing down the sewers to where they were. After a final wave was sent out, Kain could see they were talking, he focused on the mouths and read the lips of what they girl was saying,

“Signals strong down, I got a ping on the laptop, we get down there you know what to do.” A couple of the words were hard for Kain to make out but he got the gist of it. Her partner’s smirk only grew as he jumped onto another pipe,

“You get the laptop, I’ll care of children.” He didn’t seem like a person they wanted to mess with. He quickly realized what these people were, they were part of Screema’s robot army, though he didn’t know their SC names, he knew they meant trouble. They were probably sent to get Mo’s laptop. Kain was shocked but he knew that he had to warn his childhood friends.

“…Screema plans to use the weapon to get rid of the… are you even listening to me, Kain?” Lex’s voice cut through the pictures and the thoughts and he quickly moved to the laptop and shut the lid.

“Dude!” Groaned Mo at his step brother’s movements, he was shushed by Kain and he grabbed Karasi’s arm and motioned for the other two to follow, they began exiting their Pipeline with the laptop under his arm.

“What the elec is wrong with you Kain?” Demanded Karasi, as he led them down the sewer line heading towards the top.

“Some of Screema’s army is here looking for this laptop,” he motioned to the laptop as he spoke so softly, they had to lean in closer as he pushed himself up against the wall and slammed the Radar to the ground. The three were completely confused when Kain groaned and led them down a different hallway then before. Millions of questions in each of their minds but they knew better than to ask them right now. After another hit to the ground, Kain mumbled under his breath and turned towards the confused kids as he led them down underneath a railing.

“What the elec did you find to make them come at us?” The frustration was radiating off of him, nobody wanted to answer his question until Karasi spoke up.

“Screema has been building a new weapon called the Game Changer, supposedly it’s so powerful that it could destroy a single port with one shot. Screema wants to use it to fight the Rising Band but thousands of people will die along with them.” She summed up the information they had found on the Bottom Net.

They all froze as they heard a loud thud just above them, no one said a word as footsteps could be heard from the railing above. They didn’t make a sound, the footsteps were about to leave to the next rail when Mo shifted and knocked over a nail.

Clink.

With wide, scared eyes, they waited as the slow drawn out steps came towards them. The person spoke into a microphone with three words,

“I’ve got them.” Kain assumed the voice belonged to be the sword robot, they all held their breath, knowing that once he found them, they would be over with. Kain gave his Radar a silent little tap and saw that he had his sword raised in the air, about to stab it down on their heads. He grabbed Karasi’s hand out of instinct and squeezed it, she returned it and grabbed Lex’s hand who was glaring at the man even though they could not see each other. Karasi squeezed her best friends hand, Lex reached out to Mo, out of all them, they all wanted Mo to get out of this, the youngest of them all. He is the reason they all got together, he’s the reason they actually know each other.

The blow was just about to be brought down when a big explosion entered in the sewers. New people had entered the room, gunfire could be heard up above, shouts from the unsuspecting SC bot and the four just stood still. Karasi and Lex were straining to try to get a glimpse of the chaos above. Mo stood silently, with his eyes squeezed shut, wishing he was back in Kain’s and his small attic room. Even though the sword never came, he was still waiting for the effect of his mistake. He didn’t open his eyes until someone pulled him from underneath the rail. He opened his eyes above the edge of the rail to see, a robot with a giant sword, four adults with guns fighting the SC bot, and the four of them peeking over watching the fight unfold. There was one woman with the three men, Mo watched as the really old guy with a white mustache punches the SC in the face, then the girl shot a round of five bullets into his chest. The bullets had no effect on the robot, Mo’s eyes widen as the furious SC charged at the warriors with his sword held high. The four moved together almost as if they were a well-oiled machine even though they didn’t have any Elec-Veins on their bodies. The adults maneuvered through the attack, quickly recovering, the SC bot made a noise that sounded like an animal.

“You’re not taking these children.” The woman said, Mo watched as angered SC bot’s eyes turned into fire. None of the children had ever seen such chaos in one’s eyes, it was almost as if the bot was going to melt inside because he had such a fire inside of him.

“I do not fail, unlike you Core Four I am not old, and I never will be old. I will succeed.” But before the fire SC could attack again, one of the men reached into his belt and threw down a smoke bomb. The four children found themselves being lifted on different pairs of shoulders and off they went. The youngsters didn’t quite understand what was happening, all they knew was that the SC bot was not pleased. Screams and shouts could be heard from where before they were. Chills ran down their spines as a metal hit against metal. Obviously, the sword dweller was trying to cut down anything that was in his path so that he would not fail. But before the crazed SC was even close to them, they were out of the sewers.

My First Blog Post

Hello and Welcome All

Be yourself; Everyone else is already taken.

— Oscar Wilde.

This is the first post on my new blog. I’m just getting this new blog going, so stay tuned for more. Subscribe below to get notified when I post new updates.

I am a new writer but hopefully will continue to grow in my writing to see where I can go and become as a writer.

My main story I am working on is something called Central Port. I have had this idea for a while now but have only written up to five chapters. I am hopefully going to keep being ahead of the game with my writing so I never fall behind for my deadlines.

Central Port follows four main character, Lex, Karasi, Kain, and Mo. They are friends who live in a dystopian future where the world is run by a dictator named Screema. Screema is fighting against the Rising Band, the rebel group that is determined to take back all of the Ports back to the people.

I started creating Central Port when I was 14, but never thought I would ever really write about it, my hope is to keep writing until it is done completely.

I will also be publishing some other writings that I have or will be writing, and those will be other days than Fridays.

I hope you enjoy my writings and please leave a comment and share this with your friends!
